The award-winning architectural design of Western Wyoming Community College played an important role in the design and construction of this addition. The new space needed to fit seamlessly into the existing design without impacting the overall look of the building. Windows, doors and exterior concrete sills were salvaged during demolition of the existing wall and reinstalled into the addition to help realize this objective.
The large classroom shop area includes a traveling crane which is used to move training equipment around the area as needed. Gas, air, water and electrical systems were designed to support the specialty equipment used during training. A section of removable guardrail was installed on the storage mezzanine for easy access by forklift.
Also included in the addition are a traditional classroom as well as office and storage areas. Mechanical systems were designed to accommodate future Technical classroom additions in this wing of the building.
